It’s All About the Shoes

While browsing through the countless images on FFFFOUND! I discovered something about myself that I find quite interesting…enough to share it with you.

I’m drawn to photographs of people’s shoes.

I’m not sure why, but when the photograph is from the waist down, I find it a lot more interesting than if it was a shoulder upwards photograph.

To me, there’s more mystery to the photograph and there’s room for personal opinions as to the story behind the photo. Full body shots just lack the allure of photographs that leave things out.

It’s weird how all of a sudden you can discover something about yourself you never knew at the most random moments.

I’ve found countless full body photographs that I love, but if there was a full body and a waist down photograph of the same subject, I’d prefer the latter.

  1. I think this is partially because such photos give more food for thought about the person in the photo. You think: whom might these legs belong to? what kind of person would wear this shoes/pants/etc. We’re used to look in the person’s face when talking to him/her (ofc, if we’re sane), so the face is associated with the person. When we see only the peson’s feet we do not see a person, we see only his/her feet 🙂

  2. Kayla,

I love your blog, you have quite the fashion sense. Me? Not so much. I’m a jeans and a hoody kind of girl, complete with a set of pumas. I wish I was able to pull off shoes but I honestly couldn’t care less HOWEVER, I love your outfits and think they actually go well together. 😀

Thanks for the comment, I’ll return as well!

  3. Normally I might say foot fetish, but I don’t think that may be the case here. As a recovered Joan and David addict I can attest to the power of the foot (and or shoe) and what it tramples over every day. Great pics.

  4. Hiya!. Thanks for the info. I’ve been digging around looking some info up for shool, but i think i’m getting lost!. Yahoo lead me here – good for you i suppose! Keep up the great information. I will be coming back in a couple of days to see if there is any more info.

  5. Ha, I see that I’ve successfully transferred my FFFFound addiction to you ;p It’s the best site, isn’t it?? I have over 1,000 images saved in my computer that I found in the site. And you really discover something about yourself as you go along… may I suggest doing a collage? ;p Seriously, there are so many things the photos you love will show you! And I love these images too… I was obsessed with pictures of shoes and feet as well. But I think it may be because I’m a shoe-a-holic ;p
