My Week in Review: May 6 – May 12

I’ve decided that, in the absence of the 365 photo project, I want to start these “My Week in Review” posts to keep you up to date on my weekly activities. I’m an Instagram junkie (find me @steggycornelius), so it’s the best place to go to find images of my week. So I’ve selected a few of the photos from last week to tell you about what happened.

Monday: Today was an average day of school and work. Most week days I find myself in business attire, which can get boring so I try and spice it up with planning cute outfits in advance.

Tuesday: After a boring day of work inside I decided to get Panera and go to a local park for dinner. It was such a beautiful evening and I even got to write a bit in my journal.

Tuesday: Not long after I finished my dinner Alex called me asking if I wanted to go play disc golf. Although we didn’t get to play much disc golf, we did get to see this beautiful site on the lake.

Thursday: I’ve become a nail polish addict! Today I wore China Glaze’s Re-Fresh Mint.

Friday: This was the outfit I wore to the reception for the student showcase. I took a lot of time and effort planning out what I wanted to wear because I was very proud and excited to have one of my photographs on display!

Friday: Alex and I at the art gallery standing next to my photo. I love my “man in the bowtie” (which is also the name of the photo!). I vlogged on Friday which you can watch here.

Saturday: I participated in my first Color Run! I love this photo with my best friend Lauren because the Before and After is just crazy! I vlogged on Saturday which you can watch here.

Saturday: After a long nap and a couple of showers I went to Walmart to pick up a few things. This new nail polish found its way into my cart. I’ve never heard of the brand “Flower” before. This is in the color “May Flowers.”

Sunday: I received an email from a bride who ordered ten of these bracelets from Alex and my etsy shop for her wedding. I thought I would never hear back from her, but she sent me a series of wedding photos with my bracelets in them! It was such an amazing thing to see something I made on a stranger during such an important event in a woman’s life.

Adventure: Student Art Showcase!

On Friday my friends, family, and I went to a local art gallery for this year’s student art showcase. I was fortunate enough to have one of my photographs be selected to be put on display! It was such an amazing night seeing my work up on a wall in an art gallery and being with my friends and family. Thank you to everyone who came out to the show to see “The Man in the Bowtie” and a special thank you to the man in the bowtie himself. Alex has been a gem this whole past semester when it came to my photography and art classes. He happily posed for everything I asked him to and was an incredible help when I got confused about something. Thank you sweetheart!

365 Days of Photos: Day 100 (April 10, 2013)

I photographed an early childhood event on campus today. The event’s centerpieces were works created by the children that attend my mother’s child care center on campus.

 

365 Days of Photos: Day 88 (March 29, 2013)

I went down to Ann Arbor to hang out with my best friend Lauren and see We The Kings in concert! This photo was taken in the alley next to the theater. Lauren and I have always just called it “graffiti alley”. I made a video about my day which you can watch here.

365 Days of Photos: Day 87 (March 28, 2013)

Art has always been an interesting thing to me, and now with my 2D class, I think I’ve become even more confused. This is one of three designs I turned in for my last project. Oh art.

365 Days of Photos: Day 82 (March 23, 2013)

As a “just because” gift Alex bought me these two from etsy.com. They’re vintage book pages with my favorite animal pressed onto them. I love them so much and they’re going to be the first things I put in my office!

 

365 Days of Photos: Day 78 (March 19, 2013)

My 2D Design class has really been challenging me this semester. I’ve been required to make a lot of abstract pieces that are out of my comfort zone. This is my most recent finished project.

I was hard at work on my 2D design project today. Tardis sat right across from me the entire time, eying my every move.

365 Days of Photos: Day 45 (February 14, 2013)

I’m working on hand blending a color wheel in my two-dimensional design class. It’s actually a lot harder than expected.

Adventure: Good Deed Date

Over the weekend Alex and I decided we wanted to go on a date, but not just any kind of date. We’ve starting going on what we’ve entitled “Good Deed Dates” where instead of spending time or money on each other, we spend time together while doing good deeds for others. The first thing we did was attend an event called “Soup Per Bowl.” Attendees purchased handmade bowls that were then filled with soup.

  

Alex’s Spoken Word class was the talent for the event. He and his fellow classmates each presented a poem. The next item on the good deed date agenda was creating a care package for a friend who recently had foot surgery and has been feeling pretty down. He loves Batman so we themed the entire box around it, comic books included and everything.

We package everything up but couldn’t deliver it the same day because it just got too late.
